STATISTICS FOR LOCAL AREA PLANNING (SLAP)

RURAL AREA:-

The development policies of Government are now focused on the district level plans. Hence the demand for basic level data on various socio economic indicators district level estimates is increasing day by day for decentralised planning and development.

Keeping in view of the above and based on the experience of the Statistics for Local Area Planning (SLAP) data collected for the year 2012-13, the collection and compilation of village level statistics has been taken up for the reference year 2014-15 under Statistics for Local Area Planning (SLAP) in Rural areas in all rural mandals of Telangana state.

At ward level (Schedule A)

  • • Availability of some basic facilities ( only for Slums),
  • • Infrastructure of the Ward which includes Assets available in the town/ ward viz number of factories, business establishments, bridges, declared forest area, orchards, roads etc.,
  • • Distance of the ward from nearest facilities,
  • • Demographic information such as population profile, disability profile, chronic and seasonal diseases,
  • • Morbidity, Disability and Family Planning(wards) which includes epidemic details,
  • • Health Facilities & Health manpower,
  • • Literacy, Enrolment status, School attendance, Out of school children,
  • • Livestock and poultry,
  • • Storage and Market outlets,
  • • Employment status of the wards,
  • • Other Social Indicators,
  • • Industries & Business,
  • • Water Supply Details, Waste Water Treatment ect.,
  • • Housing Distribution of Households,
  • • Land Ownership and Rates

At Town level (Schedule B) :

Expected output and outcome under SLAP:

Output :

  • A. Village/Ward/Town level information in the form of well structured database shall be created.
  • B. The following handbooks will be made available for each district.
    • 1. Mandal Handbook consists of village wise information
    • 2. Ward/Town level information
    • 3. District Handbook consists of mandal/Assembly/ Parliamentary constituency wise information
    • 4. State report consists of district wise information

Outcome:

  • The data collected under SLAP can be used as inputs for micro level planning at village/panchayat, Mandal, Ward/Town and district level and also for facilitating formulation of local level developmental plans, monitoring of various ongoing and future schemes of central and state governments.
